Status on Our Current Building

The Board of Trustees is scheduled to meet on Wednesday, June 14th to consider 3 contracts for the purchase of our existing building and property.

This meeting was necessary when the previous buyer defaulted on the purchase contract, which allowed our Broker to seek additional potential buyers.

During this time of contract acceptance and an additional Due Diligence period, where the prospective buyer can inspect the building and property to decide if they truly want to continue with the purchase. This Due Diligence period will last 45 days – approximately until the end of August.

Should the buyer want to complete the sale, closing is expected to occur within 30 days of the end of the Due Diligence period, meaning a closing date of the last week in September.

While this additional delay can be associated with having your birthday delayed for a few months, we as Unity Truth students come to understand this (delay) is in Divine Order and unfolding as it is meant and supposed to.

Our New Location

With the delay in completing the sale contract, we have not been able to sign the lease for our new space. This delay has allowed continued coordination with the contractor to provide the estimate on the build-out and coordinate with the landlord.

This delay has also given some breathing room for the current tenant to not rush in their move to another facility (Divine Order and timing, right?).

Rev Vernelle, Vashti Saint Germain, and I met last Sunday to review interior design ideas which are beginning to solidify.

During the next several weeks, I’ll be coordinating to find an opportunity where we can invite our congregation to tour the new space and display the interior design concepts.

How You Can Help

As mentioned in the weekly eNews, there are pictures of past events and activities from Unity of Melbourne, but there is no information about the origin of the pictures. We invite those who have participated in previous events at Unity of Melbourne to help us, “Remember our Past and Write our History”, so we can carry that forward into our new space.
