We are now in “high gear” with the relocation to our new space at 2190 Sarno Road.
The exterior building signs have been installed (see image below) and the previous tenant has moved out. I’ll be obtaining the building keys this Thursday afternoon, with the carpet being cleaned on Friday and allowed to dry over the weekend. Then the “work” begins.
Next Monday will see the foyer and portions of the Sanctuary being painted, IT technicians will be working to install network throughout the space, HVAC technicians will service the heating and air units, locksmiths and security trades will also begin their work.
Offices and classrooms will be incrementally moved, using contractor support will follow, as will the foyer/hospitality area be transformed into a wonderful welcoming space that creates the feeling of love, joy, and peace.
The Sunday Oct 8 worship service will be the last service at 2401 N Harbor City Blvd. This will be a special service where we’ll celebrate the years we have spent there and release that building’s transformation into its’ new phase of existence. We’ll be asking for help after the service to remove anything from the Sanctuary seat backs and to help stack the chairs, so they can be moved.
Please plan to attend the Open House / Soft Opening on Saturday, Oct 14th, from 12pm-2pm at 2190 Sarno Road. It will be an opportunity to tour our new space.
Our first service at 2190 Sarno Road will be the next day, Sunday, Oct 15th at our usual 10:30am time. That being the 3rd Sunday of the month and would usually be a Potluck Sunday, we’ll be serving pizza that day instead of asking congregants to bring in food. Our desire and intent is to make our 1st Sunday at our new location simple, which might be difficult with including a plethora of food.
Thank you to those who have helped in the various ways of making this relocation possible.
Should you have any questions, please ask me.
