Status on Our Current Building
The building and property at 2401 N Harbor City Blvd now belong a new owner, and Unity of Melbourne has signed a 5-year lease on a new space in the Bowe Gardens Shopping Center (corner of Sarno Road and Croton Road) that will be available to us on October 1st. Your Board toured the space this past Sunday and seemed very excited about the possibility the new space offers. The space is currently occupied, and the current tenant has until the end of September to complete their move out.
The current plan is our last worship service at 2401 N Harbor City Blvd will be Sunday, Oct 8th and our 1st worship service will be Sunday, Oct 15th. I’m working with the Board of Trustees on having a “soft opening” on Saturday, Oct 14th for a couple of hours for members and congregants to visit the space with Rev Vernelle offering a new-space opening ceremony (more on that to come).
There is continued work being done to determine what will be moved to the new space and what will be made available for the business liquidation sale in October.
The Board will be meeting to determine how the proceeds from the sale of the building and property will be handled. We already have an arrangement with a local Certified Financial Planner and are working with their firm.
How You Can Help
You are strongly encouraged to attend the Town Hall, hosted by your Board of Trustees, Sunday, Sep 17th immediately following the Sunday worship service.
The Town Hall will NOT be live streamed but will be recorded and a video will be made available at the conclusion of the meeting.
Should you have any questions, please ask me.
