Status on Our Current Building
There has been a flurry of activity the past week.
The prospective buyer has completed an additional escrow deposit. The property survey has been completed and delivered. Our agent/broker has been advised the buyer’s financing has been approved, and I have ordered the mortgage payoff from our lender, Marine Bank & Trust.
All seems all is in order for our Board to sign the closing documents on Wednesday, August 30th.
This past week has not been without issues. Several days ago, our building took a significant power hit which caused our Spectrum modem and router to fail. Additionally, our computer file storage device also failed and we are working with our IT company to determine if the entire device is not usable and must be replaced. Fortunately, we have all our current and historical files (known as “the File Cabinet” or “File Share”) backed up through a commercial electronic storage company, so our electronic holdings remain available.
It also seems the power spike also damaged some of the panels on our WatchFire Ignite electronic sign, leaving some portions of the sign unreadable. I have a call into our sign company to determine the extent of any damage.

Thanks to Ben Lamons for removing some cabinets in some classrooms and moving file cabinets as we continue to consolidate our furnishings.
